Creator Terms

These terms apply to the Biotadex creator programme: Field Educators, who link their videos to species in the app, and affiliates, who share a personal code. You can take part in either or both. They add to the Biotadex Terms of Service, which still apply.

JOINING

You need a Biotadex account in good standing and an application at biotadex.app/creators. We review applications by hand and may approve or decline any of them. We may end your participation at any time, for example for a breach of these terms or the Community Rules, and you may leave at any time by emailing contact@biotadex.app.

YOUR CODE

When you are approved, your account's invite code becomes your creator code. You may ask for a custom code; we may decline one that is taken, misleading, or uses someone else's name or brand. New players who enter your code when they sign up receive the usual invite bonus of free scans.

WHAT YOU EARN

You earn a commission on purchases made in the app by players who entered your code at sign-up, on or after the day you applied. For each of those players, purchases made in the first 90 days after their account was created count. That includes the first year of a Biotadex Pro subscription, scan packs and any other in-app purchase. Subscription renewals after the first year, and purchases after the 90 days, do not count.

COMMISSION

The commission is 20% of our net proceeds from each qualifying purchase, unless we agree a different rate with you in writing. Net proceeds means what the buyer paid, less sales tax or VAT and less the fee Apple or Google keeps. For example, a $39.99 Pro subscription on which the store keeps 15% earns you about $6.80. We may change the rate for future purchases with 30 days notice by email; commissions already earned keep the rate they earned.

CONFIRMATION

A commission is confirmed 30 days after the purchase. If the purchase is refunded or charged back before then, the commission is cancelled. If a purchase is refunded after its commission was paid, we may deduct that amount from your future earnings. Your own accounts, accounts you control, and accounts created in exchange for payment or reward from you do not earn commission.

PAYOUTS

We pay monthly, by PayPal or Venmo, once your confirmed, unpaid balance reaches $20. Balances under $20 roll over to the next month. You add your payout details (a PayPal email or Venmo handle) in your creator dashboard once you are approved, and you are responsible for keeping them correct and for any taxes on what you earn. If you are paid $600 or more in a calendar year in the United States, we will ask for the tax information the law requires before paying further.

DISCLOSURE

Any post that mentions Biotadex and includes your code or link must say clearly that you earn from it, for example #ad or #affiliate, in the post itself and not only in your profile. This is required by advertising law in the United States and most other countries.

FAIR PLAY

Do not create accounts to use your own code, buy or trade sign-ups, offer people money or prizes to sign up with your code, post your code in places that do not allow it, or say anything about Biotadex that is false or misleading, including promises about what the app identifies or what players can win. We may withhold or reverse commission for purchases or sign-ups that break these terms, and close participation for repeated or deliberate breaches.

FIELD EDUCATOR VIDEOS

Videos you link must be your own or ones you have the right to share. They play in the platform's own player, and plays and follows count on your channel. You give us permission to show the linked videos, your name, channel name and avatar inside Biotadex and on our website. You can unlink a video at any time. Videos about fungi are shown with our own safety notice. A verified educator tick is granted at our discretion and can be removed.

PRIVACY

We use your application details to review it, run the programme and pay you. Your dashboard shows how many players signed up with your code and the date, type and commission of their purchases, never who they are. See the Privacy Policy for the rest.
