Community Rules
Last updated September 2026
Biotadex is a shared record of the living world, and your photographs are visible to other people. These rules apply to every photograph, username, display name, avatar, and comment.
WHAT NOT TO POST
Sexual content. Nudity, sexual acts, or sexually suggestive imagery. Any sexual content involving a minor results in permanent removal and a report to the authorities.
Hateful content. Slurs, hate symbols, or content attacking people over race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation. This applies to usernames and display names as much as to photographs.
Harassment. Targeting, threatening, degrading, or repeatedly contacting another person. Do not post photographs of identifiable people who have not agreed to appear.
Violence and gore. Dead, injured, mutilated, or killed animals. This includes hunting and fishing trophies, roadkill, dissections, and prepared specimens. Biotadex is a record of living things in the wild — photograph animals alive.
Cruelty. Content showing animals being harmed, baited, trapped, restrained, or deliberately disturbed.
Illegal content. Anything depicting or promoting poaching, trafficking in protected species, or the collection of protected organisms.
Deceptive content. Photographs you did not take, screenshots, images from the internet, pictures of screens or printed photographs, or photographs of models, drawings, and taxidermy passed off as live finds.
Spam and impersonation. Advertising, bulk posting, or presenting yourself as Biotadex staff or as another person.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN SOMETHING IS REPORTED
Reported content is hidden from public feeds while it is reviewed by a human. You will still see your own find. If the report was wrong, the content is restored and nothing happens to your account.
Reporting content you simply disagree with — or reporting a rival to push them down the leaderboard — is itself a violation, and repeated false reports cost you the ability to report.
CONSEQUENCES
First violation: the content is removed and you are warned.
Repeat violations: features are restricted, and points obtained through the violating content are reversed.
Severe violations: immediate permanent ban.
Sexual content involving minors, credible threats of violence, and targeted hate campaigns skip every intermediate step.
REPORTING
Tap the ⋯ menu on any find, comment, or profile and choose Report. You can also block a user from their profile, which hides their content from you everywhere in the app.
