Crates & items
A walk worth taking.
Crates appear on the map where you are, on real footpaths inside real parks — never on private land, never at a random coordinate. Five things come out of every one, at least three of them stickers. The further you walk to it, the better its odds.
How it works
Same crates all day.
- Open the app, see today's crates. They are placed for you, for today, from where you are — and they are the same crates every time you look. Closing and reopening the app does not reroll them.
- Pick one and walk. Each crate says its tier and which sticker packs it can hold before you set off. Distance decides the tier: the crate at the end of the road is usually wooden; the one two kilometres away has a real shot at gold.
- Open it there. Five draws. At least three stickers; the other slots may be a point cache, an item, or more stickers. A daily allowance caps how many you can open.
- Keep what came out. New stickers go in the book, duplicates go to your spares for trading, items go in your bag, and a cache goes straight on your score.

Crates sit on paths, inside public greenspace.
A crate declares its tier and packs before the walk.
Tiers
Distance shifts the odds.
The tier is decided when the crate is placed, from how far away it is. Walking does not add a flat bonus — it buys better odds through one mechanism, and the tier is the reward for the walk.
A cache is a lump of points, at most one per crate and often none. It takes one of the five draws rather than riding alongside them, and a very rare cache is worth half a very rare species. Pro's extra draws never change the cache — extra draws buy stickers and items, not score.
| Distance | Gold or better | Diamond |
|---|---|---|
| Under 600 m | 12% | 0.5% |
| 600 m – 2 km | 25% | 2% |
| 2 km and over | 40% | 8% |
| Crate | Cache chance | Cache size |
|---|---|---|
Crate |
50% | 25 or 75 pts |
Gold crate |
65% | 75 or 200 pts |
Diamond crate |
80% | 200 or 500 pts |
Items
Things you carry.
About one crate in six carries an item. The rule for what counts as one: if you cannot picture it in a canvas satchel, it is not an item. Nothing upgrades a rarity, forces an identification, or banks a find you did not photograph — and nothing, bought or found, ever grants points.

The promise
Crates are never sold.
Not as spawns, not as keys, not with the odds printed on the side. Nothing purchasable places a random crate, skips a cooldown, re-rolls a tier or opens one remotely. Anything money buys in Biotadex has a known outcome and is priced in money — no coins in between. That is what keeps the trade, the grind and the numbers on the stickers page honest.
